“Sleepwalk With Me” Announces Extension Through June 7th!

Tell Everyone!

Due to overwhelming audience response and demand for tickets, Sleepwalk With Me, written by and starring Mike Birbiglia and produced by Nathan Lane has been extended again through the Spring at The Bleecker Street Theatre (45 Bleecker Street just East of Lafayette). The surprise comedic theatrical event of the season is now selling tickets through June 7, 2009.

“With a small show like ours, we owe so much to word of mouth, so i can’t thank people enough who have told their friends,” said Mike Birbiglia. “I can only hope that these people make more friends, so we can keep extending. Might I suggest some cookie recipes?”

Time Out New York applauds Mike Birbiglia and Sleepwalk With Me, saying “his time has finally come!” and The New York Daily News cheers, “The Manhattan comic has such an endearing, laid back persona, as well as such perfect timing, that it all threads together in a funny, touching whole.”

In his theatrical debut, comedian Mike Birbiglia takes the audience on a hysterically funny and intensely personal journey through his struggles with sleepwalking and his reluctance to confront his fears of love, honesty and growing up.

The fun also continues on Wednesdays immediately following the evening performance with a talkback series entitled “An Awkward 10 Minutes With Mike.” Past guests have included Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Ira Glass, Judy Gold, Zach Galifianakis, Lisa Loeb, and many others.

In “An Awkward 10 Minutes With Mike,” Mike Birbiglia interviews a new guest each week about a personal story that they’re uncomfortable about discussing in public. “It’s a fun add-on to the show because thematically, Sleepwalk With Me is about telling people the things we’re not supposed to talk about,” said Birbiglia. “It opens the whole thing up so it’s not just about my stories but about everyone’s stories. The only danger, of course, is that people will leave and say, ‘my favorite part was when he talked to other people at the end!”
